Tokyo: An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck eastern Japan on Thursday, with no reports of casualties or damage.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Japan Meteorological Agency stated that the epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred off the coast of Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, originated in the Pacific Ocean at a depth of about 50 kilometers.

There have been no initial reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake, and no tsunami warnings have been issued.
