Baghdad: A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck the Caspian Sea, off the coast of Russia, on Tuesday evening.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center indicated that the earthquake occurred 41 kilometers northwest of the city of Derbent. The epicenter was located at a depth of 12 kilometers.
The tremor was recorded at 20:33 GMT. The statement did not mention any details about material or human losses.
