BEIRUT: The first aircraft from Saudi Arabia, loaded with critical medical supplies and food aid, landed today at Rafik Hariri Airport in Beirut, marking the commencement of a Saudi-led relief effort to assist Lebanon during its current hardships.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Saudi relief air bridge operation began with a shipment of 46 containers filled with various pharmaceuticals and therapeutic goods. This initiative comes in response to the call for international support as Lebanon faces severe economic and health challenges. Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, who announced the aid on Saturday, expressed his gratitude towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other nations for their support in these trying times.
The establishment of the air bridge is seen as a significant step towards alleviating the distress in Lebanon, which continues to grapple with political instability and a crumbling economy. The ongoing support from Saudi Arabia and other international partners is expected to p
lay a crucial role in Lebanon’s recovery efforts.
