Iraq and Romania Explore Enhanced Media and Economic Ties


BAGHDAD: The Head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate and the Arab Journalists Federation, Mu’ayyad Al-Lami, met with the Romanian Ambassador to Iraq, Radu Octavian Dobre, to discuss potential media, cultural, and economic collaborations between Iraq and Romania.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions aimed at fostering relations that benefit both nations occurred at the headquarters of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate. The meeting highlighted the significant role of the Iraqi journalistic community both locally and internationally, prompting interests in opening new avenues of cooperation between media institutions in both countries.

Ambassador Dobre emphasized the influential stature of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate during his visit, suggesting it as a foundational stone for developing stronger media ties. On his part, Al-Lami expressed enthusiasm about the ambassador’s visit and indicated the Syndicate’s readiness to initiate media and cultural exchanges. He further discussed broadening
the scope to include economic and commercial cooperation.

The talks also included an invitation from Al-Lami to Romanian journalists, encouraging them to visit Iraq to personally witness the ongoing developments in construction, economic reform, and security stabilization.
