Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met with a delegation from the Russian oil company Lukoil on Thursday, focusing on the company’s ongoing projects and cooperation in Iraq’s oil sector.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussion encompassed Lukoil’s operations, particularly in the West Qurna/2 and Eridu oil fields, and the ongoing implementation progress. The Prime Minister’s Office provided a statement detailing that Al-Sudani received a comprehensive briefing on the efforts being made in these major fields.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Al-Sudani emphasized the Iraqi government’s commitment to enhancing the oil industry and boosting national production capacities. He pointed out the strategic importance of developing various petroleum and petrochemical derivatives as a priority for the country’s developmental agenda.
