**Iraq Opens New Embassy in Dublin to Foster Stronger Ties with Ireland**


Dublin: In a significant move to bolster diplomatic relations, Iraq has inaugurated its new embassy in Dublin, Ireland. The ceremony, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, marks a pivotal step in enhancing cooperation and establishing stronger bilateral ties between the two nations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the event was attended by notable figures including the Deputy Mayor of Dublin, Donna Cooney, and the Head of the Protocol Department, Ambassador Gerard Keown, who both delivered welcoming speeches. They acknowledged the importance of this new diplomatic chapter which underscores Iraq’s intent to deepen its international relationships. Moreover, several ambassadors from Arab and other foreign countries were present, highlighting the event’s diplomatic significance.

During the ceremony, Minister Hussein emphasized that the establishment of the new embassy not only reflects the robust relations between Iraq and Ireland but also aligns with Iraq’s broader
foreign policy achievements. He noted that Iraq’s expanding diplomatic network is crucial for realizing its foreign policy objectives and that the Dublin embassy exemplifies Iraq’s dedication to fostering multifaceted relations with Ireland, spanning political, economic, scientific, and cultural domains.

Minister Hussein also remarked on the global economic interconnections, stressing the importance of forming new partnerships to boost prosperity and development. Despite geographical distances, both nations are committed to building strong, resilient economies. He highlighted Ireland’s transformation into a hub for innovation, technology, and education, which complements Iraq’s rich natural resources and strategic position in global trade.

The role of the Iraqi and Irish communities in reinforcing bilateral relations was another focal point of Hussein’s address. He pointed out that leveraging the skills and networks of these communities could expedite economic and cultural cooperation.

In addition to the o
pening ceremony, Minister Hussein met with the staff of the Iraqi Embassy, urging them to diligently work towards strengthening Iraq’s international ties and advancing the country’s interests globally.
