Eilat: The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced early Thursday that it had launched a drone attack on a strategic target in Eilat, escalating tensions in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the group issued a statement detailing the motives behind the assault. “In continuation of our approach to resisting the occupation, and in support of our people in Palestine and Lebanon, and in response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, our Mujahideen attacked at dawn today, Thursday, a vital target in occupied Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) with drones,” the statement said. The Islamic Resistance also affirmed its commitment to intensifying its operations against its adversaries.
