Baghdad: Minister of Migration and Displacement Evan Faeq Jabro discussed enhancing cooperation and coordination with the new UN Secretary-General’s Representative in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassani, focusing on supporting stability in areas where displaced persons are returning.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting, which also included Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Humanitarian Coordinator Ghulam Mohammad Ishaq, served as a platform for Jabro to welcome Al-Hassani to his new role. She expressed optimism about his success and commended the efforts of the United Nations’ affiliated organizations in working collaboratively with the Ministry.

The discussions primarily revolved around increasing support for displaced individuals and returnees, vital for fostering stability in their respective return areas. The Ministry’s statement highlighted the importance of these collaborative efforts in ensuring the successful reintegration of displaced communities into their localities.
