First Voters Cast Ballots in Special Kurdistan Parliament Elections

KALAR: The special voting process for the Kurdistan Parliament elections commenced this morning, with notable early participation from military personnel. The National Iraqi News Agency reported that the first voter to participate in the special vote was Peshmerga soldier Nawaz Hama Aziz, who cast his ballot at the Martyrs of Kuljo Center in Kalar.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Major Ibrahim Ahmed followed shortly after, casting his vote at Betwin School in the Raniya District of Sulaymaniyah Governorate. The special voting process marks a significant step in the electoral proceedings as military and security forces are given the opportunity to vote ahead of the general public.

The early voting process is designed to accommodate those who may be unable to cast their votes on the official election day due to their professional commitments. The participation of Peshmerga soldiers and other security personnel is seen as crucial to ensuring their voices are included in the democratic process.
