BAGHDAD: Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari held separate meetings with the Ambassadors of Jordan, Spain, and Lebanon to discuss joint cooperation on security and mutual interests. The discussions underscored Iraq’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with these nations, focusing on border security, crime prevention, and the exchange of expertise.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Shammari extended his congratulations to the Jordanian Ambassador, Maher Salem Al-Tarawneh, on his new role, emphasizing the importance of securing common borders and enhancing collaboration on security matters. The Jordanian Ambassador expressed his country’s dedication to bolstering the ties between the two countries.
The statement from the Minister’s office further detailed the meeting with Eliza Rico Perez del Pulgar, the Spanish Ambassador to Iraq. Al-Shammari congratulated her on her appointment and highlighted the ongoing partnership between Iraq and Spain, with a particular focus on exchangin
g expertise in security matters. The Spanish Ambassador commended the Ministry of Interior for its efforts in enhancing security and stability and expressed a desire to continue serving common interests.
In a separate meeting with Lebanese Ambassador Ali Adeeb Al-Habhab, Al-Shammari and the Ambassador exchanged views on various issues of mutual concern. The discussions emphasized the importance of reinforcing bilateral relations and collaborative efforts between Iraq and Lebanon. The Lebanese Ambassador acknowledged the significant cooperation from the Iraqi Ministry of Interior in various security and service areas.
