ISTANBUL: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued a scathing condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza and Lebanon, declaring that words fail to capture the extent of the violence and labeling supporters of Israel as complicit in these actions. Erdogan’s remarks came during a meeting with mayors of residential neighborhoods in Istanbul.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan emphasized that Israel is an illegal occupying force responsible for the deaths of 50,000 innocent people. He accused the nation of committing massacres in Gaza over the past year, which have now spread to Lebanon. Erdogan’s speech underscored Turkey’s support for the Palestinian people in their pursuit of dignity and freedom, while denouncing what he described as a genocidal regime.
Erdogan’s statements also highlighted the role of international supporters of Israel, who he claimed share responsibility for the ongoing violence. The Turkish President reiterated his country’s opposition to oppressors and commitment to
defending the oppressed, positioning Turkey as a staunch advocate for Palestinian rights.
The reported genocide in Gaza, allegedly backed by the United States, has resulted in over 142,000 Palestinian casualties, with more than 10,000 individuals still missing. This violence has caused widespread destruction and famine, severely impacting children and the elderly.
