CAIRO: Iraq and Egypt are in discussions to broaden their collaboration in the health sector, focusing on pharmaceutical industries, medical facility development, and training programs for medical teams. The dialogue took place between Iraq’s Minister of Health Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi and Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Housing, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, both ministers underscored the significance of enhancing cooperation in the health sector by sharing visions and experiences. They emphasized the potential benefits of such collaboration, which include the development of hospitals and the leveraging of Egyptian expertise in various health-related domains. The discussions are aimed at enriching bilateral relations and improving healthcare services in both nations.
Minister Al-Hasnawi expressed his enthusiasm for attending the World Conference on Population, Health and Human Development in Cairo. He emphasized Iraq’s commitment
to maintaining active communication and collaboration with Egypt, reflecting a shared interest in advancing health sector capabilities and infrastructure.
