BAGHDAD: Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, has called for the unification of visions and positions within an Arab Islamic project aimed at protecting Lebanon and Palestine and addressing the just demands of their peoples. This initiative comes as part of Iraq's broader diplomatic efforts to counter Zionist aggression in the region. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mandalawi's appeal followed a meeting with Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese House of Representatives, during an official visit in solidarity with Lebanese and Palestinian communities. The visit aligns with directives from the Supreme Religious Authority emphasizing the necessity of support and alleviating suffering in the region. Al-Mandalawi highlighted Iraq's active parliamentary diplomacy, including participation in international and regional forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference and the Arab Parliament's emergency meeting, to press global powers to halt what he described as gen ocide by Zionist forces against civilians in Lebanon and Palestine. Al-Mandalawi underscored the threat posed by the occupation's leadership and forces to international systems and humanitarian laws, warning of potential global security and economic repercussions. The discussions with Berri focused on initiatives to end Zionist aggression and contain regional conflict. Al-Mandalawi reiterated Iraq's commitment to supporting peace efforts and restoring stability in Lebanon and Palestine, urging Islamic and Arab parliaments to back Iraq's diplomatic initiatives. He emphasized the importance of a unified Islamic-Arab project that safeguards Lebanese and Palestinian sovereignty, meets the rightful demands of their peoples, and addresses humanitarian needs.
