Basra: The General Company for Iraqi Railways announced today the operation of trains to transport sports fans from Baghdad Central Station to Basra Train Station and vice versa.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the company’s general manager, Engineer Jabbar Aliwi Lahyis, stated that this initiative is based on directives from the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, to support the national team in its upcoming match against Jordan. The match is scheduled to take place at the Palm Trunk Stadium in Basra Governorate next Thursday.

The company has allocated three trains specifically for this purpose. Departure times from Baghdad Central Station to Basra Train Station are set for Wednesday, with the first trip leaving at seven in the evening, followed by the second at nine in the evening, and the third at ten in the evening. An additional reserve train is scheduled to depart at eleven in the evening.

For the return journey on Thursday, the scheduled trips from Basra will begin with the
first train at seven thirty in the evening, the second at eleven in the evening, the third at midnight, and a reserve train at one after midnight.
