Iraqi Prime Minister Pledges Support for Palestinian Statehood at Riyadh Summit.


Riyadh: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed Iraq’s support for the establishment of a Palestinian state on all its territory with Al-Quds as its capital. Al-Sudani made this declaration during his speech at the joint Arab and Islamic summit in Riyadh, emphasizing Iraq’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s stance that Palestinians are the rightful owners of their land and decisions, and emphasized that no external party has the authority to make concessions on their behalf. He urged Arab and Islamic nations to adopt a strong and credible position to halt ongoing conflicts and alleviate the suffering of Palestinian and Lebanese populations.

The Prime Minister called upon all Arab and Islamic countries to fulfill their humanitarian responsibilities by contributing to relief efforts. Al-Sudani highlighted Iraq’s commitment to forming an Arab and Islamic fund aimed at rebuilding Gaza and Lebanon, reflecting Iraq’s dedica
tion to humanitarian causes.

He further remarked on the necessity for Arab and Islamic nations to leverage their combined cultural, economic, and political influence in a world increasingly dominated by economic blocs and alliances.
