Riyadh: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad in Riyadh, coinciding with their participation in the joint Arab and Islamic summit focused on addressing the aggression in Gaza and Lebanon. The meeting aimed to discuss and enhance bilateral relations between Iraq and Syria, exploring ways to develop these ties across various sectors for mutual benefit.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the dialogue emphasized the importance of aligning positions and making decisive resolutions during the summit to halt the ongoing Zionist aggression against Gaza and Lebanon. Both leaders highlighted the urgent need for major countries and international organizations to take responsibility for addressing the violations committed by occupation forces against civilians in both the occupied territories and Lebanon.
