Biden Announces Ceasefire Agreement in Lebanon.

Beirut: US President Joe Biden announced Lebanon and Israel’s acceptance of a ceasefire. Biden stated to reporters that the fighting would halt at ten o’clock in the morning, local time in Jerusalem.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Biden emphasized that the agreement supports Lebanon’s sovereignty, and the United States will provide support to ensure its implementation in cooperation with France. He also mentioned plans to support a ceasefire agreement in Gaza within days, with new efforts involving Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and Israel.

Biden stressed that lasting peace cannot be achieved on the battlefields, indicating that he directed his team to end the conflict. He also noted that the agreement will be fully implemented and clarified that there will be no deployment of US forces in southern Lebanon.
