Foreign Nationals Arrested at Al-Mundhiriyah Border Crossing for Drug Possession


Diyala: A security detachment from the Diyala Police arrested two foreigners in their possession of narcotic substances northeast of Baqubah, Diyala Governorate Center. The operation took place at the Al-Mundhiriyah border crossing, where the individuals were apprehended while transporting drugs.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Colonel Haitham Al-Shammari, the media spokesman for the Diyala Police Command, revealed that the arrest was facilitated by the Police Dogs Administration and Training Department (K9). The team conducted a thorough search of commercial trucks at the border crossing, which led to the discovery of the narcotic substances.



The foreign truck drivers were detained and their vehicles were seized by the competent security authorities. Legal measures have been initiated against the accused, ensuring that the necessary judicial processes are underway. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Diyala Police in combating drug trafficking within the region.
