Baghdad: The Popular Mobilization Commission announced today the arrest of an ISIS terrorist following a pursuit operation that extended from Anbar Governorate to the capital, Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission stated in a statement that a team from the Investigations Directorate of the General Directorate of Security and Discipline was able to arrest the terrorist after precise monitoring and movements that continued from Anbar to Baghdad, culminating in his capture there.

The statement added that the operation was conducted after obtaining official approvals from the competent judge. It was noted that investigations with the arrested terrorist are ongoing.

The statement emphasized that the terrorist was active in Anbar Province, affiliated with ISIS, and involved in activating sleeper cells and carrying out attacks against security forces.
