Jenin: Spokesman for the Palestinian Security Forces, Brigadier General Anwar Rajab, announced the arrest of 40 outlaws, including arms dealers, during the “Protect the Homeland” campaign in the Jenin Governorate and Camp in the West Bank recently.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Palestinian News Agency “Wafa” quoted Rajab as saying that the security forces operating in the Jenin Governorate and Camp achieved progress and accomplishments during the past week. This was in conjunction with the continuation of the “Protect the Homeland” campaign, which aims to achieve its goals across all governorates.

Brigadier General Rajab explained that the confessions of several detainees held by the security forces revealed significant progress in identifying individuals suspected of involvement in the martyrdom of security establishment members in the Jenin Camp.

He pointed out that 40 outlaws were arrested, including arms dealers and others involved in shooting at security forces. Many weapons, dozens of explosive devices, and military equipment were confiscated, and numerous devices were defused, including a large one placed next to Jenin Governmental Hospital.

In late December, the Palestinian Authority reported the killing of a sergeant in its security services during violent clashes with resistance elements in Jenin camp. The same period witnessed clashes between Palestinian security forces and gunmen from the “Jenin Battalion” amid the ongoing “Homeland Protection” security operation launched by the Palestinian Authority, with efforts by Palestinian civil and human rights institutions to resolve this crisis.

Earlier, the “Jenin Battalion” emphasized that the campaign’s goal is to pursue and disarm resistance fighters.
