Greece Leads European Imports of Iraqi Oil in 2024

Athens: Greece has emerged as the leading European importer of Iraqi oil in 2024. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Greece imported an average of 190,950 barrels of crude oil per day from Iraq during the first half of the year. However, this figure dropped to 30,870 barrels per day by December 2024. The report further highlighted Turkey as the second-largest European importer of Iraqi oil, followed by France and Spain in third and fourth places, respectively. Meanwhile, the report also noted a significant fluctuation in the number of Iraqi crude oil shipments to the United States. The average exports to the U.S. were 144,872 barrels per day during the first six months of 2024. This average increased to 195,322 barrels per day in the second half of the year.
