Ankara: Turkey has issued a strong condemnation following the attack on the Saudi hospital in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, located in western Sudan. The Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed its deep condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Sudan, while also wishing a speedy recovery for those injured in the incident.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to international law and refraining from targeting civilian infrastructure. The statement highlighted Turkey’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that aim to establish peace and stability in Sudan.

The attack, which resulted in a significant loss of life, was confirmed by the Governor of the Darfur region, Minni Arko Minawi. He announced that over 70 individuals were killed when the Rapid Support Forces conducted a drone strike on the Saudi hospital in El Fasher. The targeted area, known as the Accident Department, was the hospital’s only remaining operational department following previous attacks. The casualties comprised mainly women and children who were patients in the department at the time of the attack.
