Riyadh: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan at the headquarters of the Saudi Foreign Ministry in the capital, Riyadh. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and explored ways to develop them across various fields, while also discussing developments on the regional and international arenas and the efforts made in this regard.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Foreign Minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia is expected to cover five significant main files, primarily focusing on the rapid strengthening of political relations between Turkey and Saudi Arabia. The discussions will include enhancing trade between the two nations, as Turkey aims to increase the volume of trade exchange with Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, Fidan is anticipated to highlight the importance of the Turkish-Saudi Coordination Council as a crucial mechanism for deepening bilateral cooperation and exploring new areas of collaboration. The discussions are also expected to address the significance of international engagement with the new Syrian government, appreciating Saudi Arabia’s positions on this matter and the importance of cooperation between Turkey and Saudi Arabia in the field of lifting sanctions on Syria.

Furthermore, the Turkish Minister will address the need to increase international pressure on Israel to establish a truce in the Gaza Strip and achieve sustainable peace. He will emphasize the importance of cooperation between Turkey and Saudi Arabia in implementing the vision of a two-state solution for the Palestinian issue.
