Baghdad: The Ministry of Planning held its first meeting today for the Green Economy Team, a subgroup of the National Committee for Sustainable Development, to review the progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for 2025. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director General of the Department of Economic and Financial Policies, Sabah Jundi Mansour, who heads the team, stated that the meeting focused on reviewing accomplishments related to the team's objectives and identifying challenges in their work. The discussion also covered the necessary preparations for Iraq's third voluntary report, set to be submitted in 2025. Additionally, initiatives proposed by government bodies and the private sector within the team's scope were deliberated upon. The meeting convened representatives from several key ministries, including Finance, Oil, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Communications, Industry and Minerals, Labor and Social Affairs, Agriculture, and Environment. Participants al so included representatives from the Central Bank of Iraq, the private sector, the Statistics Authority, and Geographic Information Systems, alongside other department members.
