Basra: The National Security Service announced the arrest of several suspects in blackmail and fraud cases in the governorates of Basra, Anbar, and Diwaniyah.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in Basra, the National Security apprehended an individual who impersonated the office manager of a representative. This suspect deceived citizens by promising appointments in the Ministry of Oil in exchange for financial sums. Additionally, an electronic blackmailer was detained for threatening to publish a woman’s personal photos on social media unless she paid ten thousand dollars.

In Diwaniyah, the service’s detachments arrested an individual accused of practicing fraud through suspicious spiritual acts. This suspect lured victims via social media for immoral purposes and extorted money. The arrest included the seizure of letters and talismans used in these fraudulent activities.

In Anbar, an employee of the Habbaniyah Municipality was arrested for impersonating a security officer and financially blackmailing students in the Fallujah District. The statement confirmed that all operations were executed based on precise intelligence and judicial approvals, and the accused were referred to the competent authorities for legal proceedings.
