New York: Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Shakhwan Abdullah discussed with the head of the French delegation, at the United Nations headquarters, the general conditions in the region and ways to enhance cooperation mechanisms between the two countries.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from Abdullah’s office indicated that the Head of the Iraqi delegation, Shakhwan Abdullah, met with the head of the French delegation, Senator Xavier Lacovelli, along with members of the accompanying delegation. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union meetings held in New York. The discussion covered several important files and issues, with a focus on the political, economic, and security conditions in the region, particularly the recent events and situations in Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon.
The discussions also involved exploring ways to enhance cooperation mechanisms and bilateral relations between Iraq and France, aiming to serve common interests.
