Baghdad: Head of the State of Law Coalition Nouri al-Maliki emphasized the fundamental role of the constitution as the supreme reference for a state governed by law. He asserted that the prosperity and advancement of a nation are unattainable without a constitution and legal framework.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Maliki’s comments were part of a speech delivered during a festival organized by Al-Bashair Movement, celebrating its ninth anniversary. He highlighted the necessity for justice and equality to prevail in building a strong and secure state. Al-Maliki urged all entities, including the government, movements, and political parties, to unite in support of the state and the law, highlighting the existence of violations and actions that contradict legal principles.
Al-Maliki expressed concern over media outlets that fail to respect state privacy and orientations, advocating for caution and firmness to counter such misleading media influences. He also called on society to be prepared to face potential challenges, expressing confidence in the collective determination, strength, and will of the people to overcome obstacles through unity, strong communication, and courageous resolve.
