New York: Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, engaged in discussions with Tullia Ackson, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, to enhance cooperation in legislative matters and address mutual challenges.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Iraqi delegation, led by Abdullah, met with Ackson and other Union members to deliberate on strategies to strengthen collaboration between Iraq’s Council of Representatives and the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Key discussion points included legislative efforts to combat desertification, address water scarcity, and uphold human rights.
