Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Crisis Group CEO Discuss Regional Tensions in Munich


Munich: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met with Comfort Ero, President and CEO of the International Crisis Group, in Munich to discuss various regional issues and tensions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions focused on the situation in Syria and its implications for regional stability. The threats posed by the terrorist organization ISIS and its impact on Iraq’s security were also key topics. The meeting further covered the security agreement between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the memorandum of understanding between Turkey and Iraq.

The dialogue extended to the relationship with Iran under the current US administration and examined the broader impact of recent political changes across the region. An important outcome of the meeting was the official invitation extended by the Foreign Minister to Comfort Ero to visit Iraq. She welcomed the invitation and emphasized her commitment to enhancing cooperation and maintaining ongoing
communication on mutual concerns.
