Baghdad: The Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee has officially requested a parliamentary question to be directed to the President of the Republic. The committee is seeking a written response within two weeks to clarify the legal basis for the decision to increase the President’s salary from 20 million dinars to 27.5 million dinars.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the committee submitted this request as part of their responsibility to ensure transparency and accountability in government financial decisions. The increase in the presidential salary has prompted questions regarding the justification and legal framework supporting such a decision, leading to the parliamentary inquiry.
