Basra: The Energy Police arrested two suspects accused of smuggling petroleum products, in one of the abandoned yards in Basra.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that: “The accused’s vehicle (tanker) was seized, loaded with an unknown quantity and quality of petroleum product, suction and discharge hoses, and a Robin pump.”

The statement added: “The accused were placed in detention and the seized items were seized based on Law No. 41 of 2008 on combating the smuggling of oil and its derivatives.”
