Baghdad: The Swiss government appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in developing bilateral relations and supporting investment. The Swiss Ambassador to Iraq, Daniel Hohn, highlighted Iraq’s significance as a regional player during a dialogue session at the Baghdad International Dialogue Conference.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ambassador Hohn emphasized the ongoing efforts by Prime Minister Al-Sudani to strengthen relations between Geneva and Baghdad. He noted that Iraq presents important investment opportunities that Switzerland is keen to explore. The ambassador expressed Switzerland’s intention to enter the Iraqi market, acknowledging the mutual interests shared by the two nations.

Ambassador Hohn also mentioned the presence of an Iraqi community eager to return and engage with Iraq, signaling potential economic collaboration. He pointed out that the Swiss government is aware of Iraq’s role as a key regional player, with numerous investment opportunities. The ambassador stressed Switzerland’s desire for Swiss companies to contribute effectively to these investments, reinforcing the economic ties between the two countries.
