The statement noted, “The night went well, and the Pope slept and is now resting.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, doctors revealed late Sunday evening that the Pope’s blood tests indicated early stages of kidney failure, but the situation is under control. They emphasized that while Pope Francis’ condition remains critical, he has not experienced any further respiratory issues since Saturday.

The Pope is receiving high doses of supplemental oxygen and was alert and responsive on Sunday, participating in Mass. Doctors are treating his condition with extreme caution due to his age, frailty, and pre-existing lung issues.
