Baghdad: The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) celebrated today the coronation of Baghdad as the capital of Arab tourism.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the celebration was held at the United Nations headquarters in the Green Zone. The event was attended by several prominent figures, including the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, and the head of the UNAMI mission, Mohammed Al-Hassan. Also present were the Minister of Culture, Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, the Minister of Migration and Displacement, Evan Faeq Jabro, along with a number of officials.

The event marked a significant recognition for Baghdad, highlighting its status and potential as a major destination for tourists in the Arab world. The designation as the Arab Tourism Capital is expected to boost the city’s profile and contribute to the growth of the tourism sector in Iraq.
