Baghdad: Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani engaged in discussions with Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Ibrahim Ali Badawi, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in the energy sector.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Abdul Ghani emphasized Iraq’s commitment to collaborating with Egypt in the fields of oil, gas, and renewable energy. The discussions aimed to generate beneficial ideas to enhance the economic and industrial interests of both nations.

The statement highlighted that Iraq is advancing various development projects in oil production, gas investment, and exploration, presenting numerous opportunities for cooperation. Abdul Ghani expressed Iraq’s readiness to explore these potential partnerships with Egypt.

The Egyptian Minister proposed initiatives for cooperation in crude oil exports, gas investment technology, renewable energy, occupational safety, health, and environmental protection. He underscored the importance of regional cooperation in establishing partnerships that serve the mutual interests of both countries.

During the meeting, both parties agreed to establish joint committees to implement the provisions of the memorandum of understanding signed between Iraq and Egypt in 2020.
