London: French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Paris and London are proposing a one-month truce in Ukraine that includes “air, sea and energy infrastructure.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Macron added, in statements following the Ukraine summit in the British capital, London, that the deployment of any European peacekeeping forces in Ukraine will take place in later stages and will not occur in the coming weeks.
He also suggested that European countries raise their defense spending to between 3 and 3.5 percent of GDP, in response to the change in US policies under President Donald Trump.
The French president’s statements came after a summit held in London with dozens of European officials, to discuss support for Ukraine, in addition to reviewing European defense issues.
