Arms Trafficking Network Overthrown in Diyala


Diyala: The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency in Diyala Governorate has successfully dismantled an arms trafficking network. The operation led to the arrest of two network members and the confiscation of weapons and ammunition found in their possession.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the agency’s detachments, which specialize in combating organized crime in the region, executed the operation with notable precision. Their efforts were bolstered by a blend of intelligence and technical expertise, enabling them to apprehend the individuals involved in the arms trade within Diyala.



The agency further revealed that during the investigation, the detainees admitted to engaging in arms trafficking for financial profit. This confession underscores the financial motivations driving such illegal activities in the area.
