Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani emphasized that the customs file holds special significance for the government, particularly concerning imports, trade exchange, and economic reform. This focus aligns with the government’s vision of achieving comprehensive development across various fields.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Prime Minister al-Sudani’s media office released a statement highlighting that the Prime Minister met with Thamer Qasim Daoud, the newly appointed Director General of the General Authority of Customs. During this meeting, al-Sudani underscored the importance of aligning the customs authority’s operations with the government’s program.

Al-Sudani instructed the continuation of work within the authority, aiming to automate customs procedures. This initiative is designed to simplify processes, overcome routine obstacles, enhance revenue generation, and combat corruption.
