Trebil: The Border Ports Authority announced the re-export of a shipment of 2,000 sheep from the Trebil port to the Jordanian side. The re-exportation occurred after the livestock underwent thorough examination procedures by specialized veterinary medical teams and were found to be unfit for human consumption due to disease.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the process was directly overseen by the Chairman of the Border Ports Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waili. The re-exportation adhered to legal protocols, in collaboration with the Trebil Customs Center, ensuring that these potentially harmful products do not enter the local market.

The Border Ports Authority emphasized that these measures are part of a broader effort to ensure that no meat or food products enter the country unless verified to be healthy and disease-free. This action aims to protect public health and maintain food safety standards for the population.
