Nineveh: A significant breakthrough in the fight against terrorism was achieved today as the Popular Mobilization Commission announced the capture of a leading figure in the ISIS terrorist gangs in Nineveh Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation was executed by a force from the 30th Brigade Intelligence under the Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization. The ISIS member, identified as (A. Kh.), was lured into a meticulously planned ambush at one of the entrances to the Nineveh Plain and subsequently apprehended.

The Commission’s statement highlighted that the captured individual is a key leader within the ISIS organization, with a record of participation in numerous terrorist activities targeting security forces. He is wanted under the Anti-Terrorism Law’s Article Four for his involvement in the operations of the so-called Soldiers’ Diwan.

Following his arrest, investigations were conducted, and the individual has been handed over to the appropriate authorities to face justice.
