Jeddah: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized to his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, that the ongoing lack of security and stability in Syria serves the interests of the Zionist entity. He called for a unified action from the Islamic world to counter what he described as a colonial conspiracy in Palestine.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Araqchi met with Fidan on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah. During this meeting, Araqchi highlighted the importance of cooperation and coordination among Islamic countries to address challenges in the West Asia region. He urged for a concerted effort to prevent the colonial conspiracy aimed at undermining Palestine through the forced displacement of Gaza’s population or the annexation of the West Bank.

Araqchi expressed concerns over the dangerous developments in Syria and underscored the responsibility of the new Syrian leadership to safeguard all groups within the Syrian populace. He warned that the lack of security and stability in Syria would benefit the Zionist entity and facilitate exploitation by terrorist and extremist factions.

In response, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reiterated Turkey’s commitment to supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and their liberation from occupation. He also noted the significance of strengthening bilateral relations between Turkey and Iran across various fields.
