Erbil: The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, affirmed his support for the efforts of the Turkish Maarif Foundation in the region. The Presidency of the Region stated that Barzani met with the President of the Turkish Maarif Foundation, Mahmoud Ozdil, alongside an accompanying delegation in Erbil. The meeting focused on the Foundation’s activities in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation with relevant authorities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Nechirvan Barzani congratulated Ozdil on his new role as the President of the Foundation and wished him success in his responsibilities. Barzani reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s support for the Foundation’s projects, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and learning from Turkey’s successful educational practices.

Mahmoud Ozdil, Chairman of the Turkish Maarif Foundation, expressed gratitude for the support from the Kurdistan Region’s authorities, acknowledging their role in facilitating the Foundation’s activities. He highlighted the Foundation’s schools in Baghdad and Erbil and expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation with regional authorities.

The meeting also addressed issues related to the quality of education and improving educational standards, with the Turkish Consul General in the Kurdistan Region in attendance.
