Baghdad: The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced on Tuesday the strengthening of its security presence on the Iraqi-Syrian border. A PMF statement highlighted that the forces of the 33rd Brigade have intensified their operations along the border area, aligning with the new openness plan initiated by the Nineveh Operations Command of the PMF.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement detailed that the deployment of the brigade’s units has taken place in the Tarfawi area, close to the administrative borders of Anbar Governorate. The units cover a distance of 12 km, organized across four main nodes, to provide comprehensive support to the security forces stationed along the Iraqi border. The primary objective of this enhanced deployment is to boost security and stability in the region.
