Gaza: The Israeli occupation resumed its large-scale aggression against the Palestinian Gaza Strip in the early hours of Tuesday morning, after a hiatus that lasted for about two months. The renewed hostilities began at approximately 3:00 a.m. Mecca time on Tuesday, signaling the end of a ceasefire that had been in place since January 19.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Israeli aggression initially began on October 7, 2023, following an attack launched by the Palestinian resistance, led by Hamas, known as the Al-Aqsa Flood. This marked the beginning of a 15-month period of conflict, which eventually paused due to a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States, Qatar, and Egypt.

The Axios website reported that the Israeli military resumed operations against Hamas in Gaza after Hamas rejected American proposals to extend the ceasefire. The Israeli Broadcasting Authority confirmed that the air force launched a wave of attacks throughout the Gaza Strip, with directives from Netanyahu and Katz to act forcefully against Hamas.

Statements from the Israeli army and Shin Bet highlighted that the large-scale attack on Hamas targets in Gaza was based on directives from the political echelon. Correspondents from news agencies reported that Israeli warplanes conducted violent raids on homes and tents across northern, central, and southern Gaza.
