Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command has officially denied reports of an explosion occurring in the capital city.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Media and Moral Guidance Department of the Baghdad Operations Command released a statement refuting the accuracy of news circulating on social media platforms regarding an alleged explosion in Baghdad. The statement clarified that what transpired was an accident involving a motorcycle overturning inside the Alawi Tunnel near the Karkh district at 9:00 PM. Two laborers were on the motorcycle, and both sustained injuries. The individuals were subsequently transferred to Al-Karama and Yarmouk hospitals for treatment, and the motorcycle caught fire following the incident.

The Baghdad Operations Command emphasized the necessity of consulting official sources for accurate information and urged the public to avoid being misled by rumors and unverified news. The statement serves as a reminder of the importance of relying on credible sources for news dissemination.
