Washington: The US administration is set to release classified documents concerning the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy. President Donald Trump announced that around 80,000 pages of classified documents and files will be made public on Tuesday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Trump stated during a visit to the Kennedy Center in Washington that the release of these documents has been highly anticipated for decades. The President had previously issued an executive order directing the federal government to prepare a plan for the release of records related to the assassinations of John F. Kennedy in 1963, his brother Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr., both of whom were killed in 1968.

In early February, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) revealed that it had found thousands of new documents related to Kennedy’s assassination. Kennedy was killed while his motorcade passed through Dallas, Texas. Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested shortly after the assassination but was killed on live television two days later by Jack Ruby while being moved to a county jail.
