Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on the international community to take action against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s policies in the Gaza Strip. Erdogan made this appeal during a phone conversation with Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan emphasized that Israel’s renewed military actions in Gaza are unacceptable. He highlighted the necessity for the international community to intervene and halt what he described as genocidal policies led by Netanyahu. Erdogan also underscored the importance of re-establishing a ceasefire swiftly.

The situation escalated on Tuesday when Israel resumed its airstrikes on Gaza, targeting various areas and resulting in significant casualties. The attacks have left hundreds dead, wounded, or missing. During the conversation, Erdogan and Stubb also addressed bilateral relations between Turkey and Finland, alongside other regional and international matters.

Erdogan expressed Turkey’s intention to enhance cooperation with Finland, particularly in the defense sector and counter-terrorism efforts. Furthermore, he reiterated Turkey’s commitment to mediating peace between Ukraine and Russia, urging Russia to agree to a ceasefire.
