Al-Sudani Launches Executive Work on Waste-to-Energy Plant Project


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani launched the executive work on the waste-to-energy plant project with a capacity of 100 megawatts in the Nahrawan area, using high-efficiency incineration technology. This is part of the government’s plans to transition to renewable energy.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the project represents a significant step toward addressing waste management issues while simultaneously contributing to the country’s renewable energy goals. The plant is expected to utilize advanced incineration technology to convert waste into energy, significantly reducing landfill use and providing a cleaner energy alternative.



The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainable waste management solutions.
