Ankara: The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced that Iraq ranked first among Arab countries in the number of visitors to Turkey during the two months from January to February 2025.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry stated in a table today that Iraq led in the number of visitors to Turkey during these months, with 133,525 tourists, marking a 9.98% increase compared to the same period in 2024 when there were 121,413 tourists. However, this also represents a 5.25% decrease compared to the same period in 2023, when 128,143 Iraqi tourists visited Turkey.
The table further indicated that Saudi Arabia came in second with 85,975 tourists, followed by Algeria with 49,523 tourists, Libya with 34,462 tourists, and Lebanon with 30,697 tourists.
The Turkish Statistical Institute reported earlier this month that Iraq ranked fifth among the countries with the highest imports from Turkey in January. It also noted that Iraqis were third among the countries with the highest purchases of Turkish real estate during February 2025.
