Basra: Technical and engineering staff at the Iraqi Drilling Company have completed the rehabilitation of six oil wells in the Zubair and West Qurna 1 fields in Basra Governorate, as part of its efforts to enhance production capacity and develop the infrastructure of the oil sector.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Iraqi Drilling Company Director General Hassan Mohammed Hassan stated, “The work included the rehabilitation of four wells in the Zubair field for the Italian company ENI, using the IDC 40, IDC 48, IDC 47, and IDC 31 rehabilitation rigs, in addition to the rehabilitation of two oil wells in the West Qurna 1 field for the Chinese company PetroChina, using the IDC 32 and IDC 30 rigs.”

He added: “The reclamation operations were implemented within the specified timeframes and in accordance with approved technical programmes, while taking into account the highest standards of quality and occupational safety.”
